“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”

My story
My journey into hypnotherapy began through a deep interest in understanding the mind, human behaviour, and the ways in which our thoughts and experiences shape how we feel and respond to the world around us.
Through both my professional experience and personal learning, I became increasingly fascinated by the powerful connection between the mind and body. I saw first-hand how stress, emotional experiences, and negative thought patterns can impact our wellbeing — but also how powerful the mind can be in creating positive change.
This led me to train in hypnotherapy so I could help people access the unconscious part of the mind, where many of our habits, beliefs, and emotional responses are stored.
What I love most about hypnotherapy is seeing the shift that can happen when someone realises they are not stuck — that change is possible, and that they already have the inner resources to move forward.
Today, I work with clients to help them feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their lives, guiding them to reconnect with their strengths and create lasting, meaningful change. Becoming a Hypnotherapist has been one of the most rewarding things I have done in my career.
I am registered with the National Hypnotherapy Society that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Testimonials
“Michelle is amazing - I recommend her to everyone! Initially I received hypnotherapy for anxiety and afterwards I was living my best life...more recently I had a session for my fear of flying. A few days later I flew to Berlin and was so relaxed on the flight that I was actually board.
Michelle is a miracle worker!"

“After having 5 years of insomnia and worry and trying just about everything I contacted Michelle to ask if she could help. I was quite nervous the first time, but she completely put me at ease and after 6 sessions I can honestly say I am sleeping better and worry less, she is very discreet and professional, and I would highly recommend her. “Michelle is amazing!!!! I've just completed six sessions for anxiety and feel like a new person. Honestly, I can't believe the difference it has made to my life. Before therapy I was unable to leave the house without support as my anxiety would be too overwhelming. Since coming to see Michelle I have been able to celebrate my wedding with friends and family, something that I had put off for ages, I have attended a pirate weekend festival, something I would never have done, without Michelle’s help, let alone the amazing time I had. If you are considering hypnotherapy, I highly recommend Michelle.”

“My 11-year-old son recently had several sessions with Michelle for a phobia. The sessions were really good and have definitely helped my son. It’s amazing the difference, compared to where he was before therapy. Thank you”

“I contacted Michelle for help with anxiety, which was affecting my confidence, relationship, low mood and feeling controlled by others. Michelle has helped me let go of past trauma that I had held onto, which was causing me to feel controlled and anxious… I have had six sessions with Michelle who has helped me to be more positive, to love myself and given me strategies to manage my anxiety. I now see the difference between love and control… I would absolutely recommend Michelle. Her work is amazing, she is an amazing and patient lady who is very approachable and just has this wonderful knack at helping other people and her therapy works! I feel good, strong, and confident. Michelle – thank you for bringing me back to a confident person again. Thank you for everything.”

FAQ
YES. There are some misconceptions around hypnotherapy. However, you are fully in control throughout the session. I cannot make you do anything you don't want to. So, no barking like a dog or dancing around like a chicken! You will be surprised the questions some people have asked!
A full consultation is needed before any therapy session to gain further details to enable me to offer the right treatment plan and make any adjustments required. Hypnotherapy is not recommended for people who suffer with epilepsy or psychosis.
Most of my clients report feeling calm and both physically and mentally relaxed. Hypnotherapy can however feel different to different people, and you may experience:
- Feeling more absorbed in your imagination
- A heaviness or lightness of your body
- Feeling more relaxed than normal
- Drifting off/sleepy but aware of my words
- Feeling refreshed and re-energised after the session (1 hour of hypnotherapy can feel like the equivalent of 8 hours sleep!)
Every client is different and there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, and while some people report feeling better after 1 session, typically more is required. It is recommended that a minimum of 6 sessions are required to achieve long lasting results. This is based on research which determined the average time for a person to form a new habit. Session plans can be discussed during your consultation.
To be successful, hypnosis requires three things:
- A desire for change.
- Giving yourself permission to go into hypnosis.
- The ability and willingness to follow simple instructions.
No. When we start to relax, and our muscles start to relax we can start to itch, and parts of our body such as the legs and hands can “twitch” – these are just indications that relaxation is taking place.
If you need to adjust your comfort, then please do so. If you need to cough, then cough. If you get an itch - scratch it! You need to feel as comfortable as possible to really enjoy and feel relaxed.
The side effects include a deep sense of relaxation, lightened mood, improved sleep, and positive change.
You will be safe to drive after each session.
